PARIS — Peter Jueptner, group president, international, of the Estée Lauder Cos., had chosen to exit his position on April 1 and to leave the company June 30.

“Over the course of his impressive career with us, Peter has been one of the key architects of the Estée Lauder Cos., helping to expand our brand portfolio, grow our global footprint and enhance the ways we work together across teams and geographies to serve our global consumers,” William Lauder, chair of the board of directors, said in a statement released Friday.

“His combination of strategic expertise and commercial acumen has left an indelible imprint on the enterprise,” Lauder said.

Jueptner’s successor was not announced. His exit comes as the latest high-profile executive change at the company, which have included a new chief executive officer and a new chief financial officer.

Jueptner joined the Estée Lauder Cos. in 2009 as senior vice president, strategy, new business development and transformation initiatives.

“In this role, he created many of the structures, frameworks and strategic principles that guided the company through a period of extraordinary growth,” the group said in the statement. “He also helped to shape the company’s portfolio through strategic M&A, leading on numerous brand acquisitions including Le Labo, Kilian Paris, Dr. Jart+ and Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.”

Seven years later, Jueptner became president EMEA, moving from New York to Paris to spearhead what the group called its “most culturally and economically complex multimarket region.

“During his tenure, Peter was a transformative leader, encouraging affiliates to leverage our full portfolio of brands to win with a broad range of consumers,” the company said, adding that resulted in many instances of growth and share gains for prestige beauty in many markets and retail channels.

“He also ably led the region during the most challenged times of the pandemic,” the Estée Lauder Cos. said.

The executive was then promoted to group president, international, in 2022, broadening the commercial principles he used to reshape the Europe, Middle East and Africa zone to a global scale.

“In the face of considerable headwinds, Peter began the crucial transformation of the global commercial organization that continues today, as we evolve into a more agile organization able to respond with focus and precision to consumer needs across geographies and channels,” the company said. “Throughout his career with the company, Peter has been deeply committed to fostering talent and promoting a culture of diversity, inclusivity and equity.…An energetic and inspiring leader, Peter’s team-building abilities and close partnerships with executives across the enterprise have fueled the success of the company’s international business.”

“Peter has made many essential contributions to shaping and growing our business worldwide during his 16 years with the Estée Lauder Cos.,” added Stéphane de La Faverie, president and CEO of the company. “I want to personally wish him the best on his next chapter. His legacy of growth, innovation and strategic leadership, as well as his passion for nurturing and developing talent, will continue to inspire us for years to come.”
