Liam Payne Dead: Charlie Puth, Paris Hilton and More Stars Mourn One Direction Singer’s Death
Another detail in Liam Payne’s tragic death has been revealed.
One day after One Direction singer—who alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan made up the hit-making British boyband—died in Buenos Aires, Argentina Oct. 16 at age 31, his cause of death has been shared by authorities.
After the “Strip that Down” singer fell from a third story balcony at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel, Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti told La Nación that he had suffered “serious injuries” that were untreatable once responders arrived at the scene.
“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” he explained to the Argentine publication in Spanish. “Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
While results of Payne’s autopsy have not been released, Crescenti emphasized his team could provide no life-saving care on the scene.
