The release date for the upcoming documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place has officially been set, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

Hitting theaters globally on Dec. 5, the film offers a behind-the-scenes look at RM, the leader of K-Pop supergroup BTS, as he makes his second album Right Place, Wrong Person.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place made its debut at the Busan International Film Festival last month in the Open Cinema section of the festival. According to a synopsis of the documentary, in addition to following the release of the rapper’s album it also “explores his reflections on how honest he can be as both RM and Kim Namjoon (the artist’s given name), as he navigates the gratitude for the attention he receives with the pressure and fear that come with his fame.”

RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which gives fans a look at the eight months leading up to the rapper’s military enlistment, is directed by Lee Seokjun. Lee previously produced music videos for J-Hope, another member of BTS.

The documentary is produced by Hybe, the parent company to BTS’ label Big Hit Music and is distributed by CJ 4DPLEX, a subsidiary of Korean conglomerate CJ Group.

RM enlisted in Korea’s military late last year. Five out of seven members of BTS are currently serving. RM and his fellow group members were spotted welcoming BTS’ eldest member Jin as he was discharged from his military service earlier this summer. BTS members Jimin and Jungkook recently starred in the newly released Disney+ show Are You Sure?!, which was filmed in 2023 before the singers enlisted. The eight-episode travel series wrapped up last month.

RM: Right People, Wrong Place will be available in 90 countries and regions across the globe, having its premiere in Seoul, South Korea on Dec. 5. Information about the film can be found on the CGV website and app in Korea and on the film’s website globally.
