A-listers such as Florence Pugh, Ariana Grande, and Kim Kardashian all embraced glitz with their formal wear—and they chose sculptural silhouettes and rich textures to help further elevate their going-out frocks.

Shortened shapes or skin-bearing cutouts, for one, added a dash of spice to the mix. Kim Kardashian attended a holiday bash in Los Angeles wearing a red leather Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown, featuring grommets and cutouts for a sexier slant. In London, Daisy Edgar-Jones embraced green—another Christmasy hue!—in a mini one-shouldered Victoria Beckham dress. Another fan of the mini dress this week? Lily-Rose Depp, who continued to promote Nosferatu on the Jimmy Fallon Show in a short Chanel LBD, complete with a white scarf-draped back—an elegant touch.
