When we look back on the TV hair of yesteryear, the reactions are definitely mixed. While the needlessly aging styles of the Golden Girls might not motivate a stampede to the salon nowadays, we can all still appreciate looks like Cybill Shepherd’s in Moonlighting, Debbie Allen’s in Fame, and Sarah Jessica Parker’s in Sex and the City. But few TV hairstyles have gained icon status quite like Farrah Fawcett’s in Charlie’s Angels—and now, another icon has sported the look to welcome the new year: Cardi B.
Cardi kicked off 2025 by performing and partying at E11EVEN in Miami, where she wore a black lace bustier and matching opera gloves, along with a dramatic, floor-skimming, green velvet skirt with a slit nearly all the way up the front. And while her ensemble may be inspired by lingerie, her hair was anything but bedhead.
The rapper wore her hair long and nearly pitch-black with a blowout shine that could probably be seen several counties away. And recalling one of the most legendary looks of the 1970s: a middle part with layers of voluminous, outward-flipped waves.
