Angelina Jolie Makes the Case for a Signature Red Carpet Dress

[ad_1]

Cue the paparazzi! Angelina Jolie brought some major movie star energy to Hollywood last night. The star was on hand at the TCL Chinese Theatre for the premiere of Maria, her new Pablo Larrain film in which she stars as opera legend Maria Callas. Throughout her press tour for the project, Jolie has been delivering one chic ensemble after the next; The fashion has been understated and elegant, whether she’s wearing a vintage gown or a sleek three-piece suit. But last night it became clear that Jolie has cultivated a signature red carpet look, as no one does a slinky silk dress better than the A-lister.

For the premiere, Jolie wore a champagne-colored silky floor-length dress, paired with a draped black overcoat and tasteful silver jewelry. The dress hit all the right formal notes in a subdued way, perhaps owning to the fact that Jolie has a long history of wearing such silky designs. Her Marc Bouwer dress at the 2004 Oscars, and her Atelier Versace gown at the 2015 Critics Choice Awards, are proof that, sometimes, the best looks are the ones that make a subtle and timeless statement.
