Brie Larson Traded Her Signature Long, Blonde Hair for a Dark Pixie Cut — See Photos

Picture Brie Larson. No, really, go ahead—picture her. Feel free to cheat if you must and just look at the photo right up there. That’s how you imagine Brie Larson, right? The Oscar winner has almost always worn her hair long and blonde, from her early days as a Disney kid to her more recent Marvel movies, her face has always been framed by sunny strands. But as she prepares to play Elektra on London’s West End, she revealed that she’s diving into her character hair-first.

On Monday, November 25, Larson posted two photos of herself looking unrecognizable if not for her distinctly Brie Larson smile. In the two-picture carousel—and a cropped closeup on her Instagram Stories—the actor shared that she chopped off nearly all of her hair into a piece-y pixie cut. “Elektra is here,” Larson wrote in the caption.

Because the photos are black-and-white, it’s unclear exactly what color Larson’s hair is now, but it’s definitely darker than her usual golden blonde. In fact, it looks as dark as the seemingly black off-the-shoulder top she’s wearing. Perhaps the black heart she posted with her Stories is a hint as to just how dark her hair is now.
