Charli xcx may be trying out her comedy chops on SNL this week, but she means serious business when it comes to her fashion. The musician—who is doing double duty as host and musical guest this weekend—is the latest in a string of stylish hosts who have turned the rehearsals into a style moment.
Though SNL is a step out of her wheelhouse, Charli and her stylist, Chris Horan, leaned into the classics: the bratty, hyperpop-adjacent style that the singer has become known for. Perhaps most emblematic of that messy, authentic look is her unorthodox marriage of Ksubi jorts with a furry coat—and a stain on her tank top—which she paired with fold-over Jimmy Choo x Jean Paul Gaultier boots.
But the Grammy nominee is more than capable of high fashion serves. Filming promotions with cast member Marcello Hernández, Charli wore a Christopher John Rogers confection: a white fit-and-flare dress that was equal parts sexy—thanks to its plunging neckline—and sweet, with a ruffled peplum. And earlier in the week, spotted en route to 30 Rock, she mixed recent McQueen by Seán McGirr with a vintage Alexander McQueen blouse from Aralda Vintage.
