Dave Coulier’s wife says his cancer treatment is getting ‘more difficult’

Dave Coulier’s wife, Melissa Coulier, shared an update on the actor’s health as he continues to undergo treatment for stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

“He has some really tough days, and as the chemo has been accumulating it gets a little tougher and more difficult,” she told ABC WXYZ Detroit on Wednesday.

However, she said that the “Full House” star has “such a positive attitude, and you need that in order to really fight it.”

“Every morning, if he’s feeling up for it, we try to put on a song and do a little dance party with the dogs, because when you do feel good, you have to celebrate that too,” Melissa, 41, continued.

She added that their circle of family and friends is “really rallying around” Coulier, 65, since the actor has lost loved ones to the same disease.

“I think it’s just innately in him. He has had a lot of loss in his life when it comes to having to deal with cancer. He lost his mother, his sister, his niece. His other sister had it,” she said.

“I think for him, he takes every stride and really pulls strength from seeing the women that were so close in his life to powering through it, and he just wants to honor them,” Melissa said.

Dave revealed his battle with cancer in November 2024.

“[I was] feeling like I got punched in the stomach because it never happens to you,” he told “Today” at the time of learning he has cancer. “You always hear about it happening to someone else.”

Following his diagnosis, the comedian started “intense” chemotherapy, which he said “scared the daylights” out of him.

“There [are] days where I feel unbelievable,” he said. “Then there’s other days where … I’m just going to lay down and let this be what it’s going to be.”

Dave is expected to finish his chemo treatment in February 2025.
