Picture this: You’re strutting the busy streets of New York City, looking stylish in a black and white outfit. Everyone is trying not to stare. Your hair is styled in the most effortless waves, flowing behind you as your make your way down the sidewalk. No, you’re not in a shampoo commercial—you’re Katie Holmes on a regular Thursday afternoon.
The actor, who is currently appearing on Our Town on Broadway, brought a retro shampoo to commercial to life in NYC on November 21. Her dark hair, brightened by a handful of caramel blonde highlights concentrated near her face, was worn long and parted in the center and styled in oversized, S-shaped bends starting near her ears. Holmes’s waves are too undone to be considered “Old Hollywood” waves, and loose and flowy to be classified as beachy waves; however they have that same unfussy, easygoing je ne sais quoi, especially as she moves. Just watch them in swing about as she walks! The question is: did Holmes hit ‘em with the curling iron or did she wake up with the ultimate shampoo-commercial waves?
