Mordecai Fall 2025 Menswear Collection

Ludovico Bruno created his brainchild, Mordecai, inspired by his passion for travel. Nomadism for him represents a spiritual journey driven by a curiosity to connect with people who have diverse perspectives, habits, and cultures. This open-mindedness turns travel into soul-searching journeys that go beyond merely following the curated IG feeds of travel bloggers. “I’ve named the collection The Intelligence of Others because, to me, traveling is about embracing humanity and its differences,” he said.

Bruno is a skilled designer; his collection showcased a distinct style and flawless craftsmanship. His approach to travel-inspired design emphasizes versatility and multi-functionality; while the silhouettes might appear bulky and oversized, they were surprisingly light and can be easily transformed by peeling away layers with clever use of snap buttons or velcro. The pieces were crafted from luscious fabrics, such as pashmina, cotton muslin and silky textures, and the predominantly neutral color palette further accentuated their lightness.

As a collector of textiles and carpets from his travels, this season he turned the patterns of Uzbek Suzani into decorative prints on silky nylon cargos, shaped in an eight-round form, and onto the lining of protective piuminos; the striped black-and-white Berber kilims were loosely referenced in the thick wool kimono jackets, inspired by the martial arts uniforms Bruno wears while practicing judo. He also offered a few looks for women, slightly tweaking the proportions to create more streamlined, lighter silhouettes.

Multilayered, protective and impactful, Mordecai’s aesthetic feels both primeval and futuristic: “The outerwear acts as a shield, a combat uniform that nevertheless remains comforting, gentle and respectful,” Bruno said. He showcased the collection through a dance performance, with dancers wearing his creations moving in a seamless circle wave to the music of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring.” Beneath the insulating surface of his padded shells, Bruno is a true romantic at heart.
