As a mother myself, I know firsthand how kids can interrupt your beauty routines—especially when they’re busy toddlers, like Rihanna’s two sons, RZA and Riot. The boys make a cameo in a new Savage X Fenty campaign, and it looks like Rihanna was so busy chasing them around she didn’t have time to take her curlers out!
In the truly adorable video, Rihanna, RZA, and Riot are dressed identically in printed zip-up hooded onesies from Rih’s loungewear and lingerie brand. Rihanna’s auburn red hair is up in rollers, with much of it pinned up to set but a few loose curls falling through as she crawls around trying to get the boys to pose together. This is no small feat when you have two kids under three years old, and sometimes your hairstyle pays the price! (RZA turns three in May, and Riot celebrated his first birthday in August.) “Winter body workout,” the star joked. At the end of the video, Rihanna triumphs, with both kids on her lap.
The boys are clearly beyond adorable, but what we really love is Rihanna’s hair color: a warm, light auburn shade that feels perfect for the fall season and looks great against the sapphire blue of her onesie. The curlers are getting a workout just like the star herself, but most of them manage to stay in place despite the high-energy wrangling of toddlers—those must be some pretty strong pins! Because she’s in mom mode, she’s wearing minimal makeup in the video; her nails are short and appear to be bare or painted with a light nude shade.
We’ve gotten a plethora of beauty inspo from Rihanna so far this year, and as we head into the final few months of 2024, she shows zero signs of slowing down. Over the spring and summer, she was all about blonde, then said she was getting bored with the shade and changed it up with a chic little pixie to announce Fenty Hair, then streaky highlights for a fashion show. The star has worn pigtails, a mullet-undercut-side bang fusion, and shiny Old Hollywood waves, among many other standout looks. What’s next? A Rihanna-and-Rocky family holiday card would be pretty cute, just saying.
