It’s a tired trope, the whole how-do-they-do-this-or-that incredulity that inevitably comes up whenever someone wears a super-long manicure. And I get it—I’ve been letting my natural nails grow out to a length I’m not used to, and I’ve had to retype portions of this sentence several times because I’m not quite sure how to function on a keyboard with what most people would consider barely long nails. But when it comes to Chlöe Bailey‘s manicure, we’re not talking about typing or zipping up her jeans here. She’s successfully doing something that anyone would reasonably think is not only counterproductive to maintaining long, fancy nails, but maybe even downright impossible: boxing.
On Thursday, November 21, the singer showed off another skill of hers: sparring in the ring. She posted a video to her Instagram Stories in which she’s wearing hot pink leggings, a black crop top, and—most importantly, boxing gloves, which she’s using to practice her moves with her trainer.

In the next clip, we see her wearing her fingerless neon inner gloves, revealing that she had a stunning—and miraculously unharmed—manicure underneath all that pounding. The gorgeous French ombré extends well past her fingertips and finishes with sharp slants. Each nail is topped off with a crystal, all of which are still firmly glued in place.
“Yes I box with my nails,” she writes, adding, “Yes, my hands are shaking after boxing,” along with a laughter emoji.
