Police have a major update in the case of Hannah Kobayashi’s disappearance.

Six days after authorities called the Hawaii native’s missed flight connection to New York Cityintentional,” the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said they had discovered footage of the 30-year-old entering Mexico and are now considering Hannah a “voluntary missing person.”

“On Nov. 12, at 12:13 p.m., she walked through the tunnel that leads to Mexico,” chief of detectives Alan Hamilton said during a Dec. 2 press conference. “She walked through the San Ysidro port of entry, and she walked through the tunnel that leads to Mexico.”

As for how Kobayashi—who was last heard from on Nov. 11, three days after she missed her Nov. 8 flight connection to New York City from Los Angeles International Airport—reached the southern border? Special enforcement officer Douglas Oldfield said video evidence proves she utilized public transit.

“She traveled through the MTA,” Oldfield shared during the press conference. “She then made it to Union Station [in Los Angeles]. At Union Station, she used her passport and cash to purchase a ticket to get to the border, and she then crossed the border.”
